Seeing Stars by Edith Cloutier

It has been such a joy to have Edith Cloutier as our Blue Fern Fan of the Month.  It's easy to see from her enthusiasm that she really has a love for creating with Blue Fern products.  As we wrap up her time with us by showing off her fourth layout today, we want to give Edith a BIG THANK YOU from all of us!  We hope you will leave some love for Edith, too!

Here is Edith to tell you all about her layout, "Seeing Stars"

I like to use Blue Fern Studios paper to make my layout's background because their beautiful patterns give a lot of style to my creations.  Their thickness is also perfect when using many mediums.  For this layout, I used the "Bretton" paper from the Chesterville collection.

As you may have noticed, I like to work with modeling paste with watercolor to do my background.  Also, I have a big crush for the "Tattered Newsprint" stamp.  I use it on practically all my layouts now.

I used the "Seeing Stars" chipboard with some embossing powder.  The Blue Fern glitter is perfect to add a special touch with micro beads and mica flakes.

And finally, no layout is complete without flowers!

March projects for Lydia Guijt!

Hello Blue Fern Studios friends!
Lydia Guijt here again with some new creations for March.
My first layout will be accompanied with a tutorial. You'll find that below.

For my second feature I've made something completely different. I hope you'll like it.

Memories

The new Spring Parade Collection has a beautiful color combination. For this layout I chose the Susie's Garden sheet.
For my background I started off using the Tattered Harlequin stamp for embossing and the Tattered News Print stamp for inking. After this I used a stencil and paste. After the background work is done I prepared the chipboard pieces.

Crossing the Lines with Speckled Mint and some Peacock FeathersWild Field Stem with Lavender Eggs on the flower part and Verdant with some sprinkling of Antique Gold. The same process for the Leafy Twigs. The title Memories - Chunky Words Halftone was done in Pink Dust. Once that was all done it was time to assemble the layout. I used the new Spring Peonies and Late Winter Lilies in my flower cluster. To finish off the page I added some further touches.

Below you'll find the video with the whole process of making this layout.
Enjoy!

Follow your Heart

For my second project I wanted to do something different.
Our Blue Fern Studios Chipboard is so nice and sturdy, it's perfect to use for Mixed Media projects.
I got a double sided canvas and tore out the center to open it up. I used pastes and stencils to created textures on the outside and center part. Once it was all dry I started with the Shabby Bits Bricks Chipboard pieces as the bast to build the center part on.

Using other materials like cardboard and metal embellishments stacking and tucking in and under to create interest and textures. On one of the top layers a couple of Leafy Page Accents. Around the edges I used the Note book Edges and having the Layering Stems fall over the edges.

With all the items in place and stuck down it was time to paint everything with black gesso. Once that was all dry it's time paint on all the the accents. The Follow your Heart title was first embossed and further highlighted with some acrylics and pastes.

Spring Greetings

For the last project this month I decided to make a set of cards using the new Spring Parade collection.

I started of with cutting different sizes of paper and played around with them creating a layered look. Once it was right I started filling it in with some doilies and some lace. For the Easter card I used one of the Easter Egg Ornaments and embossed it with Lavender Egg. Giving it some extra glitter with Peacock Feathers. The Spring card has a Spring Trinkets chipboard piece and is treated the same way.

To finish off the cards I used Later Winter Lilies and Soft Blossoms and some other decorations. The final touches were some mist splatters and we're all done with our card set.

Hi Everyone,

Today it's my turn to share with you my new projects with the gorgeous Spring Parade Collection.

I used the Susie's Parade paper for my  first project, called "Gratitude".

I covered the Classic Bunnies and Garden Lattice chipboards with Snow Embossing Powder.

And finished my project with some flowers that I "fussy cut" from Joyful paper. I also used Spring Florals and Late Winter flowers.

For my second project I decided to create a " Magical Garden" layout. My daughter loves fairies and magical creatures and I think this collection is perfect for these kind of layout.

I use the Remenbrance paper for the background.

Then, I embossed the Bordeaux Layered Frame and Winter Titles with a mix of embossing powders: Coral, It's a Girl and Oatmeal. I wanted the chipboard to blend with the main paper and have some contrast.

To create the garden I used dry moss, beads, resines, mini flowers and Spring Lillies flowers.

My last two projects are two spring cards also using the Spring Parade Collection.

Then, fussy cut the bunnies from Spring Petites paper. The flowers are also  fussy cut from Joyful and Susie's Paper.

For my last card I used May Vignettes and June papers.

A Spring Parade Layout by Kris Berc

Hello, everyone!  The beautiful new Spring Parade collection inspired me to create another Easter layout.  The colors in this collection are just so pretty! I hope you will consider getting some for yourself.

I chose the Spring Parade - Sunday Best paper for this layout.  I love the floral spray at the top and the cute little bunny on the bottom! To create my background, I used a few different colors of sprays, a stamp from the Forever stamp set, and the Tattered Harlequin stamp.

I embossed the Floral Clock and Cute chipboard pieces with Oatmeal embossing powder.  This color is wonderful!

I used several flowers to embellish my layout: Chesterville Blooms, Soft Blossoms, Spring Peony and Berries, Spring Florals, and a few others from my stash.
